We are pleased to announce that Pierre Bartholomeus will be our new Managing Director. Our shareholders have great confidence in his abilities to lead the organisation onward and look forward to a successful collaboration.
After four successful years, Ron Hagen will step down as Managing Director on 1 September. Ron has been instrumental in NGT's growth and brand awareness. Under his leadership the organisation has taken important steps in energy transition and laid a solid foundation for the future.
Over the past 25 years, Pierre Bartholomeus has gained extensive experience in the international (new) energy and cleantech industry. He is currently Managing Director of Gasunie New Energy, where he focuses on scaling up sustainable energy innovations. In collaboration with joint venture partners, he led the development of Carbon Capture & Storage infrastructure for Northwest Europe, biomethane gasification technologies and transmission infrastructures for renewable heat. Previously, he held key positions such as Global Director Marketing & Sales at Bekaert Heating, Director Gas Consulting at DNV and Business Unit Director Gas Consulting & Services at KEMA. Pierre holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Groningen and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
Commenting on his new role, Pierre said: "I look forward to working with our customers on a robust Northwest European energy supply, it is a challenging role to shape the energy transition in the North Sea, alongside natural gas transport that remains important."
Lex de Groot, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, adds: "We are delighted with the arrival of Pierre. With his experience, knowledge and drive, he will shape the future of NGT in this important period of energy transition."
